Conflicts Analyst

Chicago, IL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Conflicts Analyst will complete computerized conflicts searches of existing and potential clients to avoid possible ethical conflicts and business issues. The Conflicts Analyst will be responsible for the entire conflicts process, from research through resolution of conflicts, through opening of new matters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Conduct basic conflict searches and analyze search results with the appropriate internal and external databases and ensure that all necessary information is obtained so that an accurate search can be completed
  • Perform corporate research using CapitalIQ and Dun & Bradstreet
  • Identify potential conflicts
  • Provide Firm lawyers with conflicts summaries
  • Communicate with Firm lawyers
  • Work with Firm lawyers, Assistant General Counsel and Senior Conflicts Attorneys to assist with conflict resolution
  • Review new client and matter forms to ensure that all information, signatures, and documentation have been received for approval
  • Provide customer service to secretaries and attorneys regarding the conflicts clearance process
  • Draft waivers and ethical screens
  • Assist with department projects and special requests
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS (Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this? position ):
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 1 + years of experience in a conflicts department setting required
COMPETENCIES:
  • LegalKey or IntApp Open knowledge desired
  • Ideal candidate will be organized, analytical, detail oriented, demonstrate independent thinking and decision making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and requirements
  • Ability to track issues and follow-up on issues
  • Ability to solve problems by choosing clear-cut alternatives
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere, and be computer proficient with strong internet researching skills
  • Familiar with use of various reference materials and internet searching
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to provide quality, accurate and efficient work product in a high volume environment
