PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accountability

  • Responsible to support Legal information technology projects, including, but not limited to subject matter expertise, requirements gathering, technology documentation creation, new system training, and operational level technology support.
  • Maintain expertise in functionality of installed legal applications, facilitate resolution of technology issues in collaboration with software vendors and IT, and provide technology support.
  • Remain current on the status and future direction of technology within the Legal market, as well as within BSC and consult with Legal Technology management regarding strategic use of information technology to achieve Legal's business strategies and objectives
  • Provide legal technology training.
  • Escalate user issues within the IT organization, as required by users, for non-legal technology applications
  • Coordinate and perform new-hire onboarding activities related to technology, security, and data management. Facilitate and support Legal data/site governance and other legal technology activities as required to support Legal's operational goals.

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum:

  • B.S. Computer Science or B.B.A. Information Systems
  • 2-3 years of professional experience with a Legal Dept, law firm, or legal services provider working in a technical capacity.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills plus training experience.
  • Experience with database applications
  • Experience with legal applications
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional work
  • Ability to maintain day-to-day operations and short term projects
  • Willingness to travel, as required

Preferred:

  • Experience with TeamConnect, eDOCS, Workshare, Relativity, Clearwell, Exterro, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and eDiscovery.

POSITION SCOPE

This position is responsible for assuring that the Legal department has effective and timely end user support, how-to-support, and training. This allows the Legal department to achieve productivity and efficiencies required to provide Legal services to clients in a timely and cost effective manner. This position is also responsible for participating in legal technology projects as a subject matter expert assisting in and performing a variety of technology project activities including, but not limited to, workshop attendance, requirements gathering, and documentation.
